Before we left Bordeaux, J and I headed out to take in some last tourist spots and grab some last photos.
It was pretty early when we went out, and after yesterday's busy streets everything was quiet and empty.
We walked to a small church nearby, Eglise St Pierre,
and from there around to the waterfront, or riverfront,
and along to the Place des Quinconces, looking very calm and bourgeouis in the early morning light
then along to the public gardens
then breakfast in one of the cafes along the Cours de XXX juillet. Back to the hotel to pack, into a taxi and off to the station. We boarded to TGV to Paris and spent the next 5 hours in comfort, watching the countryside go by.
I've decided that there are many many posts around about Paris, one of the loveliest of cities, so mine will be the highlights of our week there, rather than a daily blow-by-blow (hey, of course some will be longer than others ;-) !!)
